At A Women’s Pregnancy Center in Tallahassee, we offer women who are facing unexpected pregnancies free and confidential pregnancy services. Our center can offer you free lab-quality pregnancy testing and inform you about your other options, parenting, and adoption.

Other Options Exist

Parenting and adoption are other paths available to you if you know you don’t want an abortion. Both of these options can sound overwhelming to begin with, but learning more about them can help you feel more informed.

We are here to listen and connect you with the support you need throughout this process. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come in.

Before making any decisions, we recommend confirming your pregnancy with a test and a limited ultrasound. An ultrasound can provide key medical information, such as an estimate of how far along you are and the location of the pregnancy.

Learn More About Parenting

Even for those who want to parent, parenting can feel like an intimidating option.

These concerns are valid, but support and resources are available. Many women find that learning more about parenting support programs, community resources, and practical assistance helps them feel more prepared than they initially expected.

At our center, we offer confidential appointments where we will talk to you about the resources and support that can help you.

Consider Adoption

Adoption is another option to explore if you don’t feel ready to parent, but also do not want another abortion. Modern adoption plans now allow for more flexibility around adoption, so you can decide what sort of relationship with your child suits you best.

The three types of adoption plans are:

  • Open adoption – This is the most common type of adoption, where you may choose the level of contact you want with the adoptive family and the child.
  • Semi-closed adoption – This is where communication is through a third party.
  • Closed adoption – Very rare nowadays, and is where you remain anonymous and have no contact with the child.

Adoption agencies can also provide support throughout pregnancy and after delivery, and services are typically provided at no cost.
